Humility States: AZ & AR

DAY 2 | States: AZ & AR

DAILY TOPIC: Humility

 PRAYER FOR HUMILITY

As we humble ourselves in prayer, and seek You and turn from our wicked ways, we thank You for Your promise to hear, to forgive and to heal our land. In the spirit of humility, we ask You to open the hearts of Americans and draw us to seek You and Your purposes above all else. We humbly ask You to remove our fabrications of who you are, and for You to reveal Yourself to us. Almighty God, create in us hearts to please You and bring You honor. We pray that we Americans will honor You in speech, and resist abuses of Your name. Father, we bow before You, aware of how far we have strayed from You in this nation. In humility, I repent for any way in which I have contributed to the decline. Forgive our sin, Lord, and heal our land.

  • When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom (Proverbs 11:2).

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL

Lord, thank you that the President recognized Jerusalem as the Biblical capital of Israel and moved our Embassy. We pray for peace and prosperity in Israel, and ask for an end to the violence and suffering. We pray for justice, and Your sovereign righteousness over Israel. We pray for mercy and Your Kingdom to rule over the land. Please protect the soldiers and civilians from bloodshed. Give wisdom to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Knesset (The legislature of Israel). May Israel remain strong, not dividing the land You gave as an inheritance to Your chosen people. May the United States continue to fully support Israel, the nation that gave us salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may they prosper that love thee (Psalm 122:6).

Day 2 - Article 1
Article 1 of the Constitution is where the powers of Congress, and any limits on those powers, are broken down and discussed. Congress makes up the legislative branch of the government, in turn, they are in charge of making the laws that go in to effect in the U.S. This article further breaks Congress down in to two distinct sections (bicameral legislature). The Senate is the first of these two bodies, and this is comprised of two senators in each state. The second part is the House of Representatives, and this is made up of a number of representatives for each state, and this is determined by each state's population.
Prayer: We pray for the limits on the powers of Congress and wisdom for making laws that serve the People and are not in conflict with God's law.
